Office work, prepared for your approval.
A desktop work system that prepares routine office work and waits for a person to approve it.
RealBud is a desktop app for small offices. Its assistant, Bud, prepares the routine work each morning: what needs attention first, which bills are due, which bank entries need checking. A person approves anything that matters before it happens. I design, build and run it.

- Best for
- Small offices whose day starts with the same checks and admin.
- Problem
- Priorities, bills and bank checks sit in different places and depend on someone remembering them.
- Changed
- One desk that lists the day’s work, prepares it and holds anything consequential for approval.
The work that comes back every morning.
In a small office the same work returns every day: decide what matters first, check which bills are due, match bank entries against what was expected. The information sits in email, bank exports and spreadsheets.
The routine depends on one person remembering it. When that person is busy or away, the work waits, and nobody can see what was missed.
How a day works.
Bud prepares
Each morning Bud reads the accounts the office has connected and prepares a ranked list of the day’s work.
You decide
Anything consequential appears on screen with Allow, Edit or Deny. Nothing is sent, paid or signed without that step.
The office keeps the record
Each decision is kept with the evidence behind it. Held items and missed runs stay visible instead of disappearing.
The Desk, where the day starts.
Priorities on the left, the next decision on the right. Bud has prepared the work; a person still makes the call.
What it does.
The first workflow pack was written for a real estate office. The jobs are ordinary office jobs.
Morning priorities
A scan around 8am keeps a ranked list of the day’s work. If you reorder it, your changes survive the next scan.
Bills on a calendar
Bills found in email become calendar entries. The expected arrival is kept separate from the verified due date.
Bank checks
A bank export is kept exactly as received. Bud prepares a reviewed version and holds any row it is unsure about.
Offices and private work
One person, a whole office or separate departments. Private work stays private when people join or leave.
Tasks in your browser
Bud can complete tasks in your signed-in browser. It stops for approval before it pays, signs or sends.
Encrypted backup
The office’s work can be backed up and restored, encrypted.

Where a person stays in control.
Bud prepares; a person decides. Anything that sends, pays or signs waits on screen for approval. The accounts an office connects remain its own and can be disconnected. Each decision is recorded with the evidence behind it.
How it is built.
- App
- Desktop app (Electron and React)
- Worker
- A local service on the office computer
- Connected accounts
- Added by the office, and removable at any time
- Records
- Decisions kept with their evidence
Want this kind of system for your office?
